Hot Water Cornbread

Ingredients

Units Scale

1 cup cornmeal

0.25 cup all-purpose flour

pinch of salt

boiling water

oil for frying (canola or vegetable)

Instructions

Mix dry ingredients

Gradually add boiling water until the consistency is good for making patties or spoon dropping into the pan

Drop into hot oil; cook first side until golden and crispy

Flip and flatten; cook until golden and crispy
